Design Concept
Throughout France, it’s common to find a wealth of Roman ruins and sites. You just need to look around the corner to see traces of old aqueducts, temples, forums, amphitheaters, arches, and baths. All dating back to over two thousand years ago. At that time, Romans were laughing at Gauls because of a linguistic coincidence: in Latin, the word gallus means Gaul but also rooster. As far as the Romans were concerned, France was to be called “Gallia”, referring to as the land of the Gauls. With time, the French kings adopted the rooster as a symbol of courage and bravery. Since then, the French have gradually accepted the image of the cock. Nowadays, the Gallic rooster (Coq Gaulois) has become one of the national emblems of France. As its crowing at the dawning of each new morning, a rooster is the perfect symbol of the daily victory of light over darkness and the triumph of good over evil.
